Harby Parish Council (Nottinghamshire) is a small Council in a busy village, located in the Newark & Sherwood district of Nottinghamshire. Due to personal circumstances the previous clerk has had to leave the Council and we are now looking to appoint a permanent part-time Clerk/ Responsible Financial Officer, to work flexibly for 18 hours per month – from home and attend meetings at Harby Village Hall as well as occasional meetings with residents and allotment tenants etc as may be required. A laptop will be provided. Should a printer be required, this will be provided by the Council.
We generally have Thursday evening Council meetings, every 2 months. Your clear and reliable advice and knowledge on the law and on Council policies & procedures will be essential, as will a good understanding of Parish Council accounting procedures. Holding a recognised Clerking qualification such as the Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) is desirable although training will be given to the right candidate in order to achieve this qualification.
You will be confident, highly motivated and an excellent communicator, with good organisational and administrative abilities.
Our employment terms and conditions follow those of the NALC standard Contract of Employment. You will be entitled to join the NEST pension scheme.
